With only 16 days to go, a new and exciting era is rapidly approaching for Rotary in the South Burnett.
With the upcoming creation of our new satellite club, it will mean that Rotary will be continuing to make meaningful differences for members of our community by further charitable projects being designed to help those in our community that are struggling with many of life’s difficulties and hardships.
The Rotary brand has long been recognised as a symbol of excellence and hope, but it also means that our motto of "service above self" is only achieved by commitment and dedication by all our members. We freely give up our time and expertise when it is needed. We collect unwanted hospital equipment and send it on for repurposing to our Pacific Island nations neighbours. We Raise funds for mental health. We engage with youth education initiatives and many more worthy exploits. And all the while we are having great fun together through fellowship and satisfaction of a job well done.
The coming moths are shaping up to be a busy time for all of us. Its now a recognised fact that we find that our services are being requested more frequently than ever before for more and more community events.
Here's some for starters!
- Providing hot and nutritious burgers, sausages and chips at the Sunny Side Up Motorbike rally on the 27th Aug
- Serving behind the bar for the QCWA centenary celebrations event at the Town Hall on the 27th Aug.
- Providing burgers,sausages and chips at the upcoming Vintage Machinery show in Oct
- Nanango races bar services
And then there is the regular events we run through out the year
- Christmas Carnival Ham wheel
- The Nanango IGA Sausage sizzle
And there will no doubt be many other calls on Rotary before this year is done.
So, we will be once again be able to say "Rotary, doing Good in The World"
