The fundamental fund raiser for Rotary Clubs around the world must be the humble barbeque.

In so many places around the nation, so many people gather around the barbeque plate and enjoy the fruits of their labours while still enjoying the fellowship that flows naturally from this simple event.
And so it was, at a recent event here in Kingaroy. Catering to hungry motor cyclists at a special educational event

At the resent "Shiny Side Up" motorcycle education and awareness project that took place at the south Burnett Motorcycle Training Complex, was being put on by the Queensland Police Service and sponsors. Rotary was invited to provide our usual fare of Burgers and Sausages with onions on bread. And all that work and enjoyment raised over $1034.

Rotarians Neil Black, Bev Watter, Ron and Cath Roberts, Mark Huston Susan and Graham (Slip) Jarvis and of course, David Tierney. All helped to make this a successful event on the day. Well done team. Not a bad day’s work by any measure.

It must also be said that this was an event that saw members of our satellite club volunteering to lend a hand in preparing, cooking, and serving up the food to hungry customers. Their help was greatly appreciated and I’m fairly sure that new friendship have now been established.
